I honestly don’t know how to describe this game or how to start this review. I’m just going to start out by saying, amazing, amazing, and fucking amazing. Japan is the king of games. Nier is really the best game of played in a long time. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this game, only that it wasn’t long enough, and it is indeed very sad. You really do sink teeth in the story, and especially the characters. The visuals are stunning! I’m a big fan of apocalyptic settings and Nier does a perfect job. You basically fight robots in an abandoned earth as vegetation and nature have taken over. You play as 2B, 9S and A2, androids sent by the organization of YoRHa. Basically humans have gone extinct. The combat is incredibly fun and not to mention the art of the main characters A2 and 2B are so jaw dropping. I had a lot fun with this game, took me a while to get through it but once you start you won’t be able to put the game down. Yoko Taro directed the game and he did what no other director could do, which was bring a total different experience to gaming. This game is indeed different. The way they tell the story is different. You really do feel like you are watching a movie and playing at the same time. The last thing I should mention about this game is the soundtrack. It’s probably one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard in a game. You won’t get tired of listening. Nier is the magnum of opus of games. At least for this year. This is the best 30 bucks I’ve ever spent.
I hate myself. I really do hate myself for not giving this game a chance sooner. When this game came out I had a chance to buy it but I totally ignored it and I am now paying the consequences. This game is amazing. It’s so damn fun. I know I’m late but better late than never. Growing up on CoD and Halo this game seems way better than the both combined. It’s just different. It’s unique. It’s so unique it deserves it’s own category. You get so sucked in to it and when you play, so much is going that sometimes your brain can’t process everything. I which I had people I could play with but for now I have the little kids on the quick play mode. I am also surprised how essential teamwork is and how teams need to be leveled out in order to win. Either way this game is big and a lot of fun. Like… a lot of FUN.
Okay. I finished the game. Took me about 6 hours but I finished it. This game is one word. AMAZING. Okay two words. FUCKING AMAZING. It’s mostly a story driven game but the combat is addicting. The fighting mechanics are amazing. It actually requires skill and reflex. Although I didn’t play with headphones, I could imagine it’s 10 times better with headphones. I felt like i had psychosis after the game. The ending is very exciting and sad as well. Starting the game, it warns you about permadeath. Although it doesn’t happen, I was playing the whole game thinking it would so every death was heartbreaking. Ninja Theory is honestly on to something with this game and I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw a sequel in the future. They should make it bigger. More open world. Like Witcher. That would be sick. Oh and btw, did I mention it’s only 30 bucks?
Just bought this game! Will do a review on it soon!
